Dawning of a New Year

Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19 (RSV)

The Last Thankful Thursday of the Year

Almost every morning I realize I have something new to be thankful for.

I am thankful that the Lord is answering prayer….even right now. I am thankful to have friends that own an ambulance company and being able to have the needed assistance in any emergency!

I am thankful for my sweet husband….who listens even when I don’t make sense….or when I’ve said it all before.

I am thankful for my family….what an awesome family I have….from those who preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, to those of us that hunger and thirst….I am thankful for the thirsting.

I am thankful for my eyesight, which I seem to be losing as the years roll on….my achy joints remind me that I am thankful that I can still do the things I do…..activities outside, from yard work to playing with grandchildren!

I am thankful for the pastures that I pass as I drive to work with their gentle slopes and dips and the great and awesome oak trees of Florida that seem so majestic as they tower above and offer cooling shade to the sweet newborn calves in the heat of the day.

I am thankful for my job, for the fun we have, as well as the seriousness of the work. I am thankful for understanding friends….for the shoulders offered when I need one.

I am thankful for those funny friends that seem to be able to read my mind! And share the laugh (or sometimes aggravation) that comes with the territory!

I am thankful for the new Bible Study I have for the new year…and the new devotion by Beth Moore that my mother gave me for Christmas. I am thankful for every sweet card and thoughtful gift I received.

I am thankful for the Bible on CD—-read by women! My most favorite read!

I am thankful for my “pillow” and the comfort it gives after I have been away from it!

I am thankful for “diet coke and diet pepsi” and on the colder days…for hot chocolate to mix with coffee….and most of all the specialty coffee’s at Starbucks!!!!!

I am thankful for what the Lord has been showing me and teaching my still willing heart…..I am thankful.

I am thankful for Jesus Christ. He is at the top of my list in my heart. He is the mighty Warrior of my soul, the Giver of life, the peace Speaker, the gentle Listener, my Savior….my soon coming King! I am thankful.

If tomorrow I wake up in eternity…..I am THANKFUL!

For more “Thankfuls” go to my sweet buddy at Spiritually Unequal Marriage…..Lynn. The others you find there will bless your heart!

A Little bit of Christmas Poetry…hee hee

I wanted to share a “bit” of our Christmas with you…..
As you enter my house, our cards are the first to greet you…well-wishes of friends and family, near and far….and a few included pictures to remind me how beautiful they all are….

Next you’ll see the kitchen…but I didn’t show you that…it is cleaned up….I must have a nap

(kidding…no nap…but that’s all I could think of to rhyme)

Above is our tree…now with presents it is filled….ready for my family to arrive….the kids just can’t keep still!
I tried to put a little Christmas touch….

in every single room.

This is a picture of a favorite family piece…my mother’s old hutch.

(Was a wash stand and my Pa-Pa did a bit of adjusting…it was green…then white…now it is gun metal gray)

My mother came over and fixed my table piece…she is creative….

and passed that gene to my sister Aimee…they both help me out from time to time….which makes me just elated! And the stockings were hung on the plate rack with care…

in hopes that my family would soon be here to share…

All the Christmas blessings we have received….

and our prayer for you this new year….would be to just believe.

Okay…enough of that….I am a poet and didn’t know it!—-Kidding —again….this girl can’t rhyme….

A Thankful Heart

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered [them] in her heart. Luke 2:19

What joy must have coursed through the heart of Mary and Joseph as they examined their newborn Son! What thankful hearts they must have had!

I am so thankful today for the blessings of heaven that has flooded my life, my husband, my children, my grandchildren, my parents, my grandparents my siblings and their families…and many more family members and friends that are so dear.

I am thankful that my family will gather together at my house for Christmas this year.

I am thankful that even though things seems tough at Tiffany’s house this year….praying for an unsaved spouse is making it so….God is working. I am thankful for the little ones that have blessed our home through Tiffany and Jared. Her three and his two! Ahem…five is what that is….

I am thankful that Tiffany made Christ the Lord of her life in September of this year.

I am thankful for Lynn and Dineen who took my child on their hearts and cried out to God on her behalf. They did not know her….but they didn’t have to. God knew exactly where she was and how to reach her heart.

I am thankful that April and David are happy and healthy and working for the Lord in their church. I am thankful that little Cy is a growing, happy active little man!

I am thankful that God is Lord of my life and keeps close watch over me.

I am thankful for His mercies, for they are new every morning!

I am thankful for the coming 2008. Who knows what is in store….just keep your hand in God’s hand….you will feel His strength and love as He guides us through to fulfill His purpose for our lives.

I am thankful for Laced with Grace …..and what each writer has written on the pages of my heart this year.

I am thankful for Christian Women Online Magazine…for the love and encouragement of Darlene….the love of new friends I have met….if I start naming names I will forget someone dear to my heart….so just know that each of you have touched my heart in an amazing way.

To be blessed by more Thankful Thursday posts, head over to Lynn and Dineen’s place at Spiritually Unequal Marriage….it will definitely bless your day!

The Strong Woman

My post for Sunday is dedicated to my mother and in memory of my grandmother (“Mamo”), two very strong women in Christ. It is the topic I shared with our church “girls ministry~Missionette group”. I am definitely not a speaker, but enjoyed sharing my heart about the blessings of my heritage.

I am honored to be a part of an awesome group of women at CWO’s Internet Cafe! Please join me over there on Sunday! Grab a cup of coffee and visit there daily—I promise you will be so blessed—these women are following hard after the heart of Christ! Join us!
