Happy Thankful Thursday!

I can hardly believe that Thursday is here again….so soon….I have so much to be thankful for.

This morning my brain was racing in a kzillion different directions…I almost missed the display of color the Lord provided while I slept.

It rained early, the road was still wet, the air was crisp and clear, the sun bright….the leaf colors had changed overnight it seemed (sometimes in the South the trees decide to hold onto their green a bit longer than the North), and the display was breathtaking! Bright orange and red mingled with gold and green. His artistry takes my breath away. His love causes me to linger a bit to enjoy His creation.

I am blessed with a wonderful family. I have a precious husband, who never fails to amaze me. I trust him with my life. He would never place me in a position of harm, he is my protector. But I have an even greater Protector. When the one I can see (Jeff) is away, I know that I am still fully protected by the One I can’t see. He is ever watchful. He never slumbers.

I am thankful that next Thursday we will gather at Jeff’s mom’s house, all the cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and out-laws! We will gather and fellowship with one another and love one another and share God’s love. We will share the heritage we have been blessed with. It is always a great day. We will stuff ourselves with the food provided by the many hands and then when we leave….we will go to my mothers and do the same! A day of feasting! A day of thankfulness!

Thank you Lord, for the bounty You so graciously supply. Day after day. I have never gone hungry. I have never lacked for any need in my life. You truly do supply all my needs—I praise Your wonderful name forever!
Today, my mind has been far from thinking “thankful thoughts”. It has been a muddle of confusion. There has lurked an aggravated person inside this normally cheerful soul. Forgive my lack of gratitude today. I truly am thankful and cannot live a day without Your mighty Presence. I humbly bow, loving You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. In Your awesome name, Amen.

We DO have so much to be thankful for. The beautiful colors you are now enjoying are gone here. At least they don’t look so pretty blown up against our fence! I’m glad you are enjoying it – it is breathtaking isn’t it?Have a blessed weekend.
