We did it!

Changes are coming! Even more than the weather!

The first one is already complete!

We have gone from “good-knights-news (dot) blogspot (dot) com —which is taxing for this brain to remember even AFTER more than 2 years of blogging!

Anyway, back to the sentence at hand, we’ve gone from that long drawn out address to the more simple–hopefully–easy to remember short version of what we are.

theknightlynews.net

How about that?

Okay, there are so many more exciting things happening! I hope that if I fail to write it down, the LORD will bring it back to my mind so that I can share it with you!

There are so many people that we each encounter every day that just need to know Jesus cares. That He’s there! That He’s HERE! A shoulder to lean on—an encouraging word—a verse of Life!

I am determined with all that I am, to be all that He desires me to be, as we look forward with GREAT anticipation in the coming days and the all-most-upon-us year—to be all out for HIM. As never before!

So—be watching, listening and waiting for His voice to whisper in your heart of a job to do! You may be surprised at what He says!

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 KJV

Be listening….

The Final Photos from the Retreat…

Good times….

Long remembered…and treasured, as are so many sweet surprises.

Hugging each neck was like a present for me. A big surprise gift tucked in the holding of a dear friend from miles away…close to heart.

I give God the glory for all the blessings He POURED into my life from the hearts of these dear friends…

And we have 3 little friends who think you can talk into a banana….

Can you hear me now???

The Places We’ll Go and the People We’ll See!

I had forgotten about this little Dr. Seuss book until I looked it up online. It’s an encouragement of sort to dream big.

Dream BIG.

“You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.”

Have you a dream? Something that seems so far fetched, you rarely allow yourself any time at all to dream it? To think it?

Maybe you take the dream out on special occasions and put it back quickly before someone guesses what you might be dreaming.

I have not read the book in a long time and don’t even have a copy, but I remembered enough of the title to look it up. While we have been blessed with a brain in our head, we can think for ourselves, it is important to remember—Who is actually in control.

If you are a follower of CHRIST, you are not in the driving seat. It is not your direction. Nor, is it mine. We are “trusting” Him to take us where He would, enable us to do the work He has called us to and yes, dream the BIG—even seemingly “impossible” dream that He plants in our hearts!

What’s wrong with a big dream?

I have had a dream for the past several years. It started with the first of our Sister’s Retreats. I loved the special times we shared as sisters. As mother would regale special moments of her childhood and youth, I could just picture her. Growing up in a very small community and living the simple (but many times hard) life in the country. Sharing life and special memories that made us who we are is much of what “retreats” are about. Sharing Christ’s love is the largest portion of retreat weekends.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9 (a dear friend reminded me of this verse this morning)

All too often I try and figure it all out before proceeding. Where’s the faith in that? Where’s the trust in that?

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

I am so hungry to hear the LORD and see Him active in my life as never before! My prayer for this retreat was, “Father, let those that come experience something—a new place in You, that they have never before experienced.” I believe, after many e-mails and conversations with those sweet girls that came, the Lord answered that prayer! I don’t think He’s finished either!

I believe that as we draw closer to Him—He will take us places in Him we’ve never even allowed our little hearts to imagine! I want it all! I want all that He will possibly pour out on my head like anointing oil! (Leviticus 8:12)

What is your dream today?

Where do you want to go for God?

Perhaps you don’t know yet, but maybe you feel that pull, that tug in your heart. I know that I feel impressed as never before to continue in this path–blogging, writing, encouraging others, praying, believing and trusting Him for big things. He has already shown me that He CAN do exceedingly —abundantly—more than we can ask or imagine! (Ephesians 3:14-21) (through the power that is at work within us!)

Let’s dream BIG!

Let’s GO FAR! For Christ!

Who knows where He’ll lead us and who we’ll see?

The Retreat

I know I’ve bombarded you already with a slide show…

But this one goes beyond the cute.

This one shares the heart of the retreat.

I have to say God has a great variety of girls. From all walks of life. All colors of skin. All with the same heart condition before we met Him.

And then…we meet HIM. The One who gave all, IS all, and loves us all! I have a few favorite pictures…I bet you can guess which ones when you see them. Get your kleenex. If you were here with us, these sweet reminders will cause the flood to begin …. AGAIN. (That’s for my sister, Lisa)

I have lots of emotion that surfaces when I watch this slide show. Every single time. While I didn’t know what to expect, God did. He knew WHO was coming because He selected them.

There is a message in one of the messages from Joanne Kraft. I hope to share it before she does (*wink*).

If you get a chance, visit everyone you can that was blessed at the retreat. I know that I came to pour out on others…but I must say…it was poured out on me.

My dear sweet Marsha, Susan and Aimee are the best team to work with! God placed our lives together in such a way, each with our own gifting (still working on figuring mine out), but if you enjoyed the food, it was because Aimee and Mother are the best cooks!

On Saturday, we catered lunch in from a marvelous pair of Sisters, Gail and Linda. Thank you girls for that sumptuous meal!

The “Shopping District” was filled with goodies of almost all kinds. AND it was CHEAP!

Susan is Ms. Jewelry Creator Extraordinaire. Marsha had the BEST information on babies . . . growth . . . physical and spiritual! (Marsha, I have ENJOYED my book! I looked up stuff last night! Very good!!) Joy Lord has some of the most beautiful photography cards of the local sights, sunsets, beach scenes, animals, etc. You might even be lucky enough to one day find one in your mailbox!

I cannot express how grateful I am for all that God did. There are many stories that will come out of this…one important thing I want you to know today.

If God whispers something in your heart, something that seems impossible, or perhaps might even seem ridiculous to the average person, but you KNOW in your heart, if obeyed could change someone’s life, especially yours, Do it. (Sorry, Tiff-I know that was a way too long sentence!)

Do whatever it takes on your part to fulfill what God has called you to do. No matter what it costs you, I promise, you will not be sorry. You will bubble over with the unexpected joy that will pour forth! Your tired bones will be REVIVED!

Well, for now, I’d better close. I am out of kleenex.

I will write more later—I have a special message to share.

I love you all.

Free to Be Me

A Morsel…from the retreat

http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf

The most amazing time was had by all. I can’t express in words the feelings in my heart.

This is NOT all the pictures….this is just to whet your appetite!

I am looking for MUCH fruit from this retreat! God is AWESOME…and HE showed up big time in the house for HIS girls!

A huge THANK YOU to my man for all the good cakes and breakfast for our speakers…and coffee late at night…and for helping on so many levels….yeah, y’all I just about drove the man crazy. I think he has a few more gray hair today. BUT they were all worth it! He loved every one of you!

Thank you for loving on me (Lisa’s word) and sharing your hearts and lives with all of us!

More to come!!

Just a note…

I am so sorry I have been so busy—I’ve not had much time to write.

Oh, my head is filled with writing that needs to come out…but I’ve not had much time to get on the computer and pluck it all out!

But others have.

If you wonder what’s kept me busy, then you’ve not been here in a while.

THE BLOGGERS RETREAT IS NEXT WEEKEND~!!!!!

I will be hugging necks of some of the sweetest girls in the whole U.S. of A.! Really!

When we all start posting our pictures…..you are gonna really wish you had signed up to come!

But that’s okay….if the LORD is willing….we will do it again. Probably somewhere else next year! We’ll just have to wait and see!

I know there are a few girls right here in this dear little town that would probably walk a mile to get a slice of whatever kind of cake this man makes!

AND I have it on good authority…there will be some “Jeff Cake” on Friday night!

We celebrated Pastor Appreciation last weekend and there were two…count ’em…two of “Jeff Cakes” on the table of desserts. THEY WENT FIRST. Crumbs in less than 30 minutes.

Red Velvet and Italian Creme`. Gone in a flash!

There will be cake….. I know that makes you wanna come get some!

Happy Birthday Dear Tiffany

UPDATE: Her blog has a special miracle on it!

Once upon a time, there was a young couple…who couldn’t hardly wait to begin their family.

When the Lord saw fit to bless their lives—He gave them a beautiful baby girl. 7 lbs. 11 oz. 21 1/2 inches long, head full of dark hair (but not for long—she soon went bald—must have been the haircare products back then).

She had her days and nights completely mixed up. She wanted to stay up and watch Johnny Carson…and the late movie…and she did. From her mother’s arms.

I confess. I probably nodded off while rocking this little darling. I didn’t sleep well those days….

Tiffany sugar, those days of keeping your sweet mama awake….I think you are being rewarded…. 🙂 (*grinning real big*)

God has brought you a long way baby! A mighty long way!

I am proud to be your mama, your friend, your prayer partner. Finally.

I am proud to be the Nana of your blessings you hold. God is mighty faithful.

Don’t ever forget that He loves you even more than we do. And that’s a bunch!

(If you click on the picture, you can see all her little blessings!)

Love,

Mom and Dad

P.S. Be glad I didn’t include the picture of you kissing the fish. All the ladies coming to the bloggers retreat will get to see it….because it’s on my refigerator! (Yes, she did…because her daddy did.)

Let Go

“let go” by Sheila Walsh has been one of the most soul searching encounters I have experienced in years! Burdens are the common denominator of our conversations among women today. From burdens of the past, to burdens of the present, we tend to carry them on our backs like a backpack or have them dangling from our arms, weighing us down like so many grocery sacks. Burdens exist in all of our lives and come in all shapes and sizes.

I found myself digging into my own life, searching out the things I had held far too long. Being forgiven of the sins in my past, I knew I was saved, but there were areas that I had not released the burden of the scar and pain that had been inflicted on my heart and life. I had applied a bandaid, but had not allowed the “Healer” to do the complete work.

By aligning Biblical examples with our day-to-day lives, Sheila shares how God’s Word is clear about the slavery and imprisonment of unforgiveness, fear, temptation, shame and more! Sheila carries the torch to light our way into our complete deliverance! Sharing her own painful personal examples as a guide to show that “we are not alone!” God’s Word is STILL true and powerful and ACTIVE in our lives when we apply the principals and truths found there!

This book is most revealing of our inner heart. Complete with questions at the end of each chapter, followed by a prayer, it would be a great devotional guide for any new believer, as well as those of us who have walked this journey for many years!

If your Women’s Bible Study Group is looking for a book that will lead to deliverance and freedom in Christ…THIS IS IT!

The Cross and Crown; A peek into a retreat

From the Archives of my Laced with Grace Devotions:

Two years ago, at an incredible Sisters Retreat, in a little Bed & Breakfast in West Pointe, GA, sisters gathered in the log cabin portion of the B&B, and laughed as Aimee told us funny teenage antics, shared life stories, sang sweet hymns, read several favorite passages of scripture and prayed together. (And we ate. A lot.)

The song that became the theme for the entire weekend was “The Wondrous Cross”. Still it comes to my mind. Especially at this time of year and I find I can’t stop singing it. I can’t get it out of my mind. It has burned a tattoo on my heart.
When the first words come from my lips, I have an instant vision of my Lord hanging on the cross….for me. Nothing in this world can ever compare to His sacrifice….His Life.

In the words, “See from His head, His hands, His feet, Sorrow and love, flow mingled down, Did ere such love and sorrow meet, Or thorns compose so rich a crown”, I picture in my mind the crown of thorns embedded into His skin, pushed deep into the very bone of His skull with blood dripping onto the ground as rubies falling from a jewelers hand.

From that very crown, as the song says, sorrow and love merged and composed a crown so rich, it could never be purchased with money.

It can never be bought with deeds. It is sought by many, but so few truly find it’s great wealth.

When I survey the wondrous cross,
On which the Prince of Glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.
Forbid it Lord that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God,
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.
See from His head His hands His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ere such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown.
Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing so divine,
Demands my soul
Demands my soul
Love demands my soul
My life my all….

He deserves nothing less than everything I have to give.
My soul, my life, my all.
Many times we look for the “pretty” in life.

The appealing. The “crown of roses” as it were.

What have we sacrificed? What have we given?

I deserved hell. I deserved damnation. But I repented, and I was given life. Everlasting. In an eternal heaven. For Him, I should always be willing to give my all. My everything —- for Him who gave His everything.

Galatians 6:14 “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

Father, when I close my eyes, I see the grace extended to me through the cross on that long ago hillside. The grace extended through time—seeing me in my sinful state, yet loving me. I thank you Father–for the love that You have for each one of us…and that You willingly gave Your only Son for our sake. Burn that sacrifice ever on our hearts and minds. That we might know You more. That we might serve You more. That we might seek You more. In the holy name of Your only Son, Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

Passionately His,
