You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.”
I have not read the book in a long time and don’t even have a copy, but I remembered enough of the title to look it up. While we have been blessed with a brain in our head, we can think for ourselves, it is important to remember—Who is actually in control.
If you are a follower of CHRIST, you are not in the driving seat. It is not your direction. Nor, is it mine. We are “trusting” Him to take us where He would, enable us to do the work He has called us to and yes, dream the BIG—even seemingly “impossible” dream that He plants in our hearts!
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9 (a dear friend reminded me of this verse this morning)
All too often I try and figure it all out before proceeding. Where’s the faith in that? Where’s the trust in that?
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
I am so hungry to hear the LORD and see Him active in my life as never before! My prayer for this retreat was, “Father, let those that come experience something—a new place in You, that they have never before experienced.” I believe, after many e-mails and conversations with those sweet girls that came, the Lord answered that prayer! I don’t think He’s finished either!
I believe that as we draw closer to Him—He will take us places in Him we’ve never even allowed our little hearts to imagine! I want it all! I want all that He will possibly pour out on my head like anointing oil! (Leviticus 8:12)
What is your dream today?
Where do you want to go for God?
Perhaps you don’t know yet, but maybe you feel that pull, that tug in your heart. I know that I feel impressed as never before to continue in this path–blogging, writing, encouraging others, praying, believing and trusting Him for big things. He has already shown me that He CAN do exceedingly —abundantly—more than we can ask or imagine! (Ephesians 3:14-21) (through the power that is at work within us!)
Let’s dream BIG!
Let’s GO FAR! For Christ!
Who knows where He’ll lead us and who we’ll see?
WOW! Now I know we're related. I'm a Dr. Seuss girl and brought two of the books this year for myself (smile). The girls had them growing up and then I passed them on to my nephews.
Anyway, more importantly your message is so timely and awesome. DREAM BIG sister!
The LORD is the navigator. We only have to go, do and be as HE says. Trust is the key.
I'm excited for and with you and all who link up with the LORD and do as He's purposed.
This is an amazing time…
Love you.
O Angie, I can almost sense you leaping for joy and excitement. It is contagious! The LORD, through you, confirmed what I read this morning in Streams in the Desert. So often, I just get bogged down and decide to forget all the hopes and dreams the LORD has place in my heart. I chuck them up to “whatever” and put them in away – far, far away. But, today I sense the LORD wanting me to “continue” to dream big – His plans for me are good to give me a future and a hope. Praise be to His Name! Thanks Angie for the encouragement. Blessings.
Hello Angie
How are you today? Hope this day is finding you refreshed and ready for the next moment with anticipation.
My dream now is being on the otherside and walking freely and working with ease of motion. A lot of pain fo a wonderful gain.
To be able to do my daily tasks and have fun with it.
It is the work of our hands that brings so much pleasure. Just those simple things. Making a loaf of bread or cooking a meal.
I am with you sis. I want to go all the way for Jesus. I love you, lets keep dreaming big.
Girlfriend, you are reading out of my book! I have a picture to email you that was taken for a post. Love this. I feel the Lord stirring as I write!! Yes, if you come near to see the frog, let me know: )
WOW!!! When I first mentioned blogging to my daughter, I told her I don't have anything to blog about. But since then I have prayed so much that in some small way He would use my blog to reach the lost, the discouraged, the hurting, etc.
Oh..lets dream big… he is able to do exceedingly above all that we can ask or think…imagine how big that is………that is what he can do……if we can stop looking at our own capabilities and trust our abilities to Him….great post.
“All too often I try and figure it all out before proceeding.”
Well, I have been there and done that too many times to count…trust and obey, there's no other way…as the song goes…
I am all for the BIG DREAMS!
I love Dr. Seuss too! I love how you brought a message using this book and dreaming big… thank you for sharing such a positive message. Blessings…
I love children's book. They speak life to this child.
Great encouragement for me for where I'm at. Thank you for leading the way. I'm spurred on as I walk by faith. God will surprise us with the people we will see and the places we will go.
Miss you much.
Love you, Angie.
Love this book and the nuggets of wisdom that reside in it. Thanks for a great post.
Dream big… Sometimes we lose sight of those dreams, sometimes we don't know how to dream… Let us ALL be big dreamers for God – that He would implant those dreams in our hearts and we would follow! BTW – I too love Dr. Seuss 🙂
Blessings,
Debbie

Hi Angie! I'm a newcomer to your site…just thought I'd check it out…the amazing thing is, I wasn't expecting anything other than to see what blogging was all about! But how great it felt to start reading and feel the presence of the Lord in your words! Thank you for your obedience unto the Lord. You are truly a Blessing…Sincerely…
From childhood I've been a dreamer. I love to dream big, and I can tell you some pretty amazing dreams have come to pass! There are others I am still waiting upon, even as I ponder the next ones.
Blessings,
Kathleen
