My Reason for Blogging!

I don’t stake a claim to being computer savvy, but I’m not completely illiterate either.

My first introduction to the “business of blogging” was while searching through some of the info on the Beth Moore website and discovered their ministry blog (Living Proof Ministries).

One particular piece of her writing stirred my soul and prompted a comment from my heart. So I “clicked” on comment. That very act changed the rest of my day.

Not knowing exactly what I was doing, I created a blog.

My very first blog was short and simple (I have a tendency to get rather long winded now). I posted my blogspot address in the signature area of my e-mails and pretty much forgot it that day.

I had written about a particular trial that I was going through with one of our daughters and her children. I was praying for them, but feeling the “heat” from the fiery trial along with them.

The next day I received an e-mail from a friend who I haven’t seen in years, telling me that I had “encouraged” her from my blog. I could hardly believe this!

My daily prayer to the Father is that “I can be an encouragement to someone that needs to see Jesus”. I want the Lord to be seen in my life every minute of every day, but for her to be encouraged by something that was going on in my life was amazing!

So I took it a step further. I began to pray about the blogs I posted. I read and studied as if preparing to teach a Sunday School lesson! To me it was.

You see, while I was on the “Beth Moore blogspot”, I hit the “next blog” button, thinking (in my ignorance) I would be going on to her next page…..whoa! Not so!

I hit on something that was the very opposite of the life of Christ! I quickly shut it down, astounded at what I had been witness to on my computer screen! But it made me stop and think. Okay, so Satan was using this tool (this we already know), well then by George (no offense to anyone named George), Jesus could use this too! So on I blogged.

I came across the CWO website and was once again “amazed at the goodness of God”.

Here I have spent countless hours searching for something besides shopping on the net all the while this was going on!

I am in love with what God is doing in the hearts and lives of women all over the world! I have been uplifted and encouraged and yes, brought to tears by many writings of other beloved women of like faith!

Women of God….keep bloggin’ on for Jesus! Keep encouraging others!

Your own blog may be the very tool used to lead someone to Christ!

Romans 10:13-14 NLT says, “For anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?”

Sisters in Christ, it is our job, our calling, and even our ministry to do what we can, by any means available to us, to share the good news of Jesus Christ!

Keep bloggin’ on!

  1. Angie,
I enjoyed you sharing with us today your story about becoming a blogger.
This was the best reason a person could have to be a blogger.
We can allow God to use anything in our lives to spread the gospel ,if we listen to his voice , as you have just proven. you have a beautiful blog and I truly enjoy visiting you .

  2. Your start sounded kind of like mine…aimless in a sense…a spur of a moment thing…turned to something grand! I think I created a post during my one year anniversary. I can locate it for you. It was quite revealing how God worked.

This post has further encouraged me to keep blogging. I don't blog as much as explained in my last post but it's always a desire of mine to write for His glory and to proclaim anything good about Him. Anything that will point others in His direction. I was/am much like you in that I “prepare” my posts like it's a SS lesson. I allow the Spirit to spur the words and then perfect it and find those tip of the tongue scriptures to add.

  3. I never knew this was your blogging beginning. Sounds like a God thing to me. Keep blogging for Jesus.
