Tired and worn out?

From a rough week of experiencing life? I received a “thought for the day” from Pastor Douglas last year sometime….and it spoke to my life. (NLT version)

Isaiah 40:26-31 Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out one after another, calling each by its name. And he counts them to see that none are lost or have strayed away.
O Israel, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? How can you say God refuses to hear your case?
Have you never heard or understood? Don’t you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak.
Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will give up.
But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
(emphasis mine)

I love those verses. It lets me know…He is watching His beloved children. Did you realize you—me—we— are His beloved children?

He sees your troubles, heartaches and will give you strength! You will soar over these clouds…(or your clouds of life) as if you had wings!

My friend, Lisa, although, not a professional photographer, took this great shot from the window of the plane flying her to New York! Great shot….gave me much to think about.

He’s there…in those clouds…He’s here, right beside me, in the middle of my problem. Waiting for communication with us. Waiting for us to speak to Him, share our hearts with Him, be “real” with Him….He knows us anyway, we may as well share it all! He knows the “good the bad and the ugly!” —–and yet He loves us anyway…..that’s just like a Father.

Mark those verses in your Bible and the next time you are feeling alone, tired, weary, worn out….go there…on your knees….in your prayer closet….meet with Him and allow Him to give you strength for the journey, rest for your weary soul and peace for your troubled heart!

I am over at Sisters of Faith this morning for our devotion! Grab your coffee and let’s sit down and rest in HIM!

Day Forty-Three

Can be found over at Sisters of Faith… and that’s where you will find me…

We are almost half way there…I can tell you that my heart has been so blessed by this study. I have learned so much more than I ever considered in just reading these passages of the life of my Savior. What He wants to teach me and you is so much more…

When you have time, peek in and read along. If you don’t have the book, just read the text that we are studying (it’s listed thanks to a sweet sister that didn’t have a book, but wanted to follow along!) and we will share our hearts, as well as some insightful things that Beth shares as well.

I got a new hot cocoa for us to try for today! YUMMY—Irish Cream Hot Chocolate! Love you all!

Well…looks like I did it again…

I have to be in two places at one time on Thursday. So what you do is this. You go to Sisters of Faith…read the devotion…listen to the song on the video clip…it’s a GOOD one! and then….hop over to Laced with Grace and read a little story I had written sometime last year.

I remember clearly the night I sat after praying for a bit, the Lord just seemed to pour this little story into my heart. And out onto the keyboard my fingers seemed to fly. At the time of the story, we were praying for 3 prodigals to turn toward Jesus…since that time, one has given her heart and life to Christ. Although the battles of life are fought daily, she has a grip on His garment.

The other two…we are praying still. Never give up! God hears and answers. He has a way of reaching those two boys…and He will!

Ya’ll don’t forget the GREAT giveaway over at Laced with Grace!!! It is awesome!!!
Oh my stars….can this count as a Thankful Thursday??? Girls…I am so thankful I don’t know what to do! You all go over to Grace Alone where Iris is…and say hi for me….and don’t tell her I am stretched so thin my clothes are baggin’….cause…this girl hasn’t seen thin in YEARS!!! The only thing thinning is my hair!!!!
Laurel…I am so thankful…you know what I just did? (Almost?…don’t make me laugh!)
Now, I must finish typing….so Jeeeeffffff!…..You wanna hold the baby???

TechnoNana and Me!

This has been the neatest surprise! TechnoNana had a reason for a visit to our fair city~and I was able to benefit from it!

I was so pleased to meet her and her dear husband—and we shared some food and conversation of getting to know sweet folks, that really felt like we had known them a loooooong time!

AND yes! Sharon—-when ya’ll come back for your family reunion—you better call us! YOU are both welcome to stay with us! What a treat!

This was so much fun! Girls, if you can get together with another bloggin’ buddy—I say do it!

I have already met Lisa Whittle of Behind those Eyes (don’t be jealous, but she autographed my copy of her book! That’s a side benefit from the She Speaks Conference!!), Kathy of Blessed Builder, Joanne of Blessed, Robin of Robinznest, Lynn of Spiritually Unequal Marriage, and now, Sharon of TechoNana!

Welcome Fall!

I felt a coolness in the air for the past few mornings…just enough for me to start pulling out the “Fall”.

In preparation for some family gathering, a dear sweet-sister friend created “just for me”, some incredible “fluff” for my home. From window treatments to bed skirts! AND chair coverings so that I can switch my color theme at my choosing! Vivienne can make ANYTHING! (You can see her and her site by clicking her name!)

I will tell you, this dear sister-friend has prayed with me, cried with me and we have shared many life joys and sorrows of cups of coffee and tea! I feel most at home at her house! She has opened her home to me— and I came in and took over her kitchen. Who but a near and dear friend will give you free reign in her kitchen!!

Creating for her and Will (her dearly devoted husband), meals from start to finish is something I love doing and CAN DO! (My talent is not in the same department as Vivienne’s) If you want to feel “loved” and appreciated…cook for Vivienne and Will. I love doing that for them—they make me feel like it is the “best meal” they’ve ever eaten! Sweeter friends cannot be found!

So I am taking you on a tour of our home…a quick one…well—after I posted this, I realized you didn’t get a shot of the bathroom. Ahhh….shucks….and Lori, I cleaned the tub and everything! Oh well. Maybe for Christmas tour you can see the tub!!!

I love you Vivienne. I love you Will. Thank you for sharing your wife with me…and your home….and thanks to their friend Roger for helping them with everything from driving to shopping 🙂

More on my visit this afternoon with my fellow bloggin’ buddy “TechnoNana”! We shared some food and sweet conversation this afternoon at Ruby Tuesdays! I LOVED meeting her! I will post a picture next!!!

Just In Case You Thought…

I have stopped writing….I haven’t. I have been over at my “sister” site—EVERY.SINGLE.DAY since September 1!

I do come back home (here) too though, so don’t give up on me! I have been blessed by the awesome messages in the book, 90 Days with the ONE and ONLY!

In searching this morning, for just the right song for Sunday—to reach out to you today…I listened to many….until I heard and saw this one. Listen in.
