My first introduction to the “business of blogging” was while searching through some of the info on the Beth Moore website and discovered their ministry blog (Living Proof Ministries).
One particular piece of her writing stirred my soul and prompted a comment from my heart. So I “clicked” on comment. That very act changed the rest of my day.
Not knowing exactly what I was doing, I created a blog.
My very first blog was short and simple (I have a tendency to get rather long winded now). I posted my blogspot address in the signature area of my e-mails and pretty much forgot it that day.
The next day I received an e-mail from a friend who I haven’t seen in years, telling me that I had “encouraged” her from my blog. I could hardly believe this!
So I took it a step further. I began to pray about the blogs I posted. I read and studied as if preparing to teach a Sunday School lesson! To me it was.
I hit on something that was the very opposite of the life of Christ! I quickly shut it down, astounded at what I had been witness to on my computer screen! But it made me stop and think. Okay, so Satan was using this tool (this we already know), well then by George (no offense to anyone named George), Jesus could use this too! So on I blogged.
I came across the CWO website and was once again “amazed at the goodness of God”.
Here I have spent countless hours searching for something besides shopping on the net all the while this was going on!
I am in love with what God is doing in the hearts and lives of women all over the world! I have been uplifted and encouraged and yes, brought to tears by many writings of other beloved women of like faith!
Women of God….keep bloggin’ on for Jesus! Keep encouraging others!
Your own blog may be the very tool used to lead someone to Christ!
Romans 10:13-14 NLT says, “For anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?”
Sisters in Christ, it is our job, our calling, and even our ministry to do what we can, by any means available to us, to share the good news of Jesus Christ!
