A BUSY Friday!

So many things going on today! First thing—before you ever roll over to get up—I will be at Laced with Grace! (Treasure Finder!)

Then—I am setting out to pay my friend Gina a visit! (Chats with an old lady!)….and then I’ve got to head in to work. . . .all I can say at this point…girl–I am glad Friday finally arrived!

I did my devotions in my Oswald Chambers “My Utmost for His Highest”…for this week. I put a couple of them online. I cannot begin to tell you how the Lord has affected my life by what I have read!

One thing I want to share from the 7th of January. I have been chewing on this—it is speaking to place in my heart where I need it. “Intimate with Jesus” is the title of the day. Oswald makes a statement that really blew me away.

“Friendship is rare on earth. I means identity in thought and heart and spirit. The whole discipline of life is to enable us to enter into this closest relationship with Jesus Christ.”…then at the close he says, “The saint who is intimate with Jesus will never leave impressions of himself, but only the impression that Jesus is having unhindered way, because the last abyss of his nature has been satisfied by Jesus. The only impression left by such a life is that of the strong calm sanity* that Our Lord gives to those who are intimate with Him.”

An unhindered way in each of our lives is exactly what Christ Jesus wants from each heart! By giving Him full control—we are allowing Him to fully show up and as Beth Moore frequently says, “show off” in our lives! Having an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ—as His Bride reminds me of the way we were (Jeff and me) as newlyweds. Constantly thinking of things to delight the other. Wanting to spend every single minute together. Since he worked off-shore then, time was extremely valuable to us! (Still is!) Christ wants us to long for Him as we do the love of our lives! He is, in fact, the Only One who is the purest Love. He is “Love”.

Have you ever thought of the relationship with Jesus as His Bride? That is something I have thought of many times over the past few months. I desire a spotless gown! Pristine White! I am determined to do all I can—everything—and everywhere He leads!

One thing I discovered in my book vs. the book depicted in the picture. Mine is from the original text of Mr. Chambers. The old way of speaking. It takes a bit more chewing sometimes. The one I found on Christian Book Distributors, in case you are interested, is a more up-to-date language style. Same devotions, yet easier to understand. But you know, I think the Lord meant me to chew. I have told Him that I want to KNOW HIM MORE. Reading, meditating on His word, and conversing daily, even moment-by-moment is the only way to fully know Him more!

I hope and pray you have a blessed Friday—a gloriously peaceful weekend and thank you—for stopping by my place for a visit! You have no idea how much I appreciate my friends and sisters in Christ!

Be sure and head over to Laced with Grace (don’t forget the give-away) and Gina’s place! So much to do!

*After next week, I will share what this meant to me this week. Are you in suspense? Good. I am too!

Where I’ve been and where I’ll be…Updated

Well…for starters, busy. Haven’t you as well been bogged down—or up to your eyeballs? Food? Laundry? Housework? THE job? What about the LORD? Was He participating in all the activities of your life…or was He patiently waiting for you to pick “that part” of your life back up after all the other had been tended to.

I find myself many times so busy that I rush about and forget my Partner. Actually, my Boss. Him. The One. The Giver of the life I so hurriedly live. When I slow down enough to gather my thoughts and keep HIM in the forefront of all my activities, everything goes smoother. As the conductor said on “The Polar Express” (watched it a thousand times) (almost), “it runs like welled oiled machinery.”

So, you know I’ve been busy. Too busy to check e-mails or blog. BUT, as I have squeezed in some time last week and then again tonight, on Sunday I was at the Cafe` having my coffee before church—I enjoyed having you join me!

Then, on the LAST day of this year—TODAY, I am over at Laced with Grace. As for changes….I am seeing some in almost every blog I visit! You might see a few changes here as well!

I am finding there are areas in my life I need to change. I am giving Him free rein in my life to direct me and if necessary—push me in the areas where the change needs to take place.

I hope to be able to catch up with the happenings in your life too!

Just when you think you are swimming serenly alone, you find yourself suddenly surrounded by a cloud of Baitfish. Just as this picture of the Sea Turtle, he was minding his own business and became enveloped by the Baitfish. The Baitfish are EXACTLY what the name implies. Bait. For bigger fish.

For the REST of the STORY…head over to Laced with GRACE….that is where I will be on Thursday!

The Blessing in the Wreck (Prologue)

Last week, as I was mulling over things in my mind, my thoughts were just not coming together in a concise devotion to share. Sure I had thoughts…sure I had ideas…but I pray about all my devotions. I take this very seriously. AND I JUST WASN’T HEARING FROM HIM! DO YOU HEAR ME??? Ever been there?

Well, on Friday morning, as my sweet husband ended his morning prayer over me, I said, “don’t forget to pray for me today—I am still muddling through some thoughts to share for Laced with Grace on Monday.”

He jokingly said, “Well, I’m not writing it for you!” I laughed and reminded him again to pray and he said he would.

As I drove to work and Aimee and I began our phone call devotions that same morning, I reminded her that I still had not heard from the LORD on what I was to write for the devotion. She promised she’d pray and then reminded me that the LORD always gives it to me, not to worry. I replied, “I wish He wouldn’t wait so long!”

The day rocked on like all Friday’s —with the one exception. I was allowed off early that afternoon! I could not believe my good fortune! I would actually have some afternoon time with my sweet man!

But instead of getting home in an hour….it took well over 2 hours. I arrived home just before 5:00. And for the rest of the story …’ll have to hop over to Laced with Grace (by clicking on the box above or—the word devotion below)

Later I told my sister, Aimee and my sweet man, that I really wasn’t wanting to GET the devotion like that! But there was a blessing. I hope you get one too!

It’s been a while….

but I hope I wasn’t away too long…just needed a bit of a break—getting started on a project—of Faith. To read just a “little bit” about it go here

g_servicesdomestic.jpgDo you know this truck? Well, it could actually be the “brown truck” or the truck with the “Purple and Green” or “Purple and Orange” letters—but for this story…it was the “orangey-yellow truck”.

Let me back up just a bit and give you some history. Not Abraham Lincoln kind…or even the grand opening of the first Wal-Mart kind…but this history is more personal. It is mine.

My sister, Aimee and I attended the incredible “She Speaks” conference. Yes, I know. You may have heard more than your fair share about it. But you haven’t heard what I’ve been saving for THIS day! —-okay—go click the Laced with Grace link………. for the rest of the story….

(My thankful Thursday is below….)
